What Is Calcium Silicate Board
Calcium silicate board is a a new type of asbestos-free lightweight inorganic material. It has high strength and good high temperature resistance and chemical resistance and is the strongest one among the inorganic thermal insulation materials with the similar density.
It is made of siliceous material (main ingredient is SiO2, such as quartz powder, fly ash, diatomaceous earth, etc.), calcareous materials (main ingredient is CaO, such as lime, calcium carbide sludge, cement, etc.), reinforcing fiber materials, and other additives by scooping or molding and autoclave curing.
Because of its high strength, light weight and good processability and incombustibility, it is widely used in construction industry and other industries for thermal insulation and fireproof. Calcium silicate board can be divided into to kinds: calcium silicate board for thermal insulation and calcium silicate board for fitment.
Calcium silicate board for thermal insulation, also called porous calcium silicate board, is a new type of thermal insulation material. It is white and rigid and has light weight, high strength, low thermal conductivity, good high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.
calcium silicate board for fitment, also called fire cement board, is a kind of lightweight material with features such as energy-saving, environmental protection, safety and versatility. It has light weight, high strength, fire proof, small shrinkage, good processability, and easy surface decoration. It is widely used in internal walls, external walls, ceiling, roof and ventilation ducts of buildings and sound-absorbing panels and fireproof wall panels of gymnasium, theater and conference room.
Calcium silicate insulation products are of a variety of shapes like plate board, curved sheet, pipe cover, and accessory products. Features easy-to-cut and easy-to-install, they are ideal insulating material for power plants, chemical plants, shipyards, refineries, paper mills, etc.
Calcium Silicate boards are recommended as excellent thermal insulation products, thus they are popular in power station, steel mill, petrochemical industries and furnaces of high temperature or high gas flow velocity as backing material of refractory bricks.
