Features And Applications Of Ceramic Fiber Board
Ceramic fiber board is also called aluminum silicate fiber board. Compared to ceramic fiber blanket, it is a kind of rigid fiber insulation product with high support strength. It is an ideal energy-saving insulation material for furnaces, pipes and other hot equipment.
Ceramic fiber board is made of blown fiber(short, thin and easily ground and mixed) by adding a certain proportion of binders and filler grade additives. In the slurry pond, it is sufficiently dispersed into slurry by the beater. Then the slurry is pumped into the shaped pool and stirred with compressed air. The slurry is adsorbed onto the mold by a vacuum pump. The wet materials are dehydrated and then released from the mold. After dried, the fiber board is processed by machines into precious shapes and sizes.
Besides the excellent performance of the ceramic fiber bulk, it has hard texture, good toughness and strength, and good resistance to erosion. Ceramic fiber board is featured with high temperature stability, low thermal conductivity, even density, and excellent resistance against thermal shock and chemical attack. It also resists oxidation and reduction. If they are wet by water, steam, or oil, physical and thermal properties are fully restored upon drying. It does not inflate after heating and can be cut and bend arbitrarily.
These ceramic fiber boards are available in a variety of temperature ratings, densities, thicknesses, widths and lengths, and custom vacuum formed shapes. These materials can used in great variety of applications in high temperature insulation industries.
Ceramic Fiber board is used for a variety of high temperature applications, including refractory linings, backup insulation, baffles and muffles, heat shields, combustion chambers, flue insulation, and fire protection.
