Crack Provisions for Special-Shaped Fused Cast AZS
Fused cast AZS blocks used in glass furnaces is available in many different shapes. The frequently used shaped bricks are produced in mass, but sometimes special-shaped bricks are needed. Here are some provisions for cracks on
fused cast AZS blocks.
1.
Tuckstons
1) The length of cracks in the corner should be no more than 40mm (one side).
2) The length of parallel cracks on the upper part of the brick should be no more than 1/3 of the length of the brick.
3) The length of longitudinal cracks should be no more than 1/2 of the length of the brick.
4) The length of cracks in the corner should be no more than 1/3 of the width of the brick.

Feed channel
1) Longitudinal cracks parallel to the interface should be no more one and no longer than the 1/2 of the width of the brick.
2) It should comply with the cross edge criteria.
3) The legnth of cracks in the corner should be no more than 1/3 of the width of the brick.

Arch brick
1) The length of longitudinal cracks should be no more than 1/3 of the length of the brick.
2) The length of horizontal cracks should be no more than 1/3 of the length of the brick. No penetrating cracks.
3) The legnth of cracks in the surface in contact with flame should be no more than 1/3 of the width of the brick.
4.
Bottom brick
1) Cracks are allowed to cross two edges, but the legnth should be no more than 1/3 of the width of the brick.
2) Cracks should be no wider than 1mm.
