How to Reduce the Corrosion of Fused Cast Refractories in Joints
The joint of
fused cast refractories is the junction of the gas phase, liquid phase and solid phase, so it is corroded most severely. Although there is no upward corrosion in the vertical joints, the corrosion here is more serious.
Reducing the joints is the most widely used method currently. One way is to use big fused cast refractory blocks to reduce the number of joints. But the size of fused cast refractories cannot be too large.
Another way is to cut and polish the bricks carefully. The angles between adjacent surfaces should be 90°. Currently the bricks are precisely cut with a diamond tool and polished with grinding technology. The vertical and horizontal error of the bricks can be controlled under 0.05%. The joints can be reduced to 0.1mm. This can significantly reduce corrosion in the brick joints.
