A Step-To-Step Introduction to the Production of Fused Cast Alumina Blocks
Fused cast alumina blocks are widely used in the cracking equipment of petrochemical and fertilizer industries, reformer, metallurgical industry and other high-temperature furnaces.
Its production process is as follows:
(1) Preparation of raw materials
Weigh and mix high quality raw materials together.
(2) Melting
Melt raw materials in an automatically controlled electric arc furnace in the best conditions. The key of the melting process is to maintain a stable melting temperature system to obtain melt with a certain temperature, uniform chemical composition, low carbon content and good casting properties.
(3) Casting
Cast the melt into a specially designed mold to solidify into fused cast alumina blocks with dense structure and good properties. If the melt is appropriately overheated, the voids are centralized, the thickness of the dense zone increases and the density of the products increases. But if the melt is overheated too much, the density will increase, but the bricks will crack and have large voids.
(4) Annealing
Cool the bricks slowly to ensure the growth of crystals and obtain an optimal structure made. In general, bricks are cooled with the mold in incubators filled with diatomaceous earth. Bricks can also be cooled in thermostat resistance furnaces or tunnel kilns according to a certain temperature system with or without a mold. The initial temperature and insulation condition have a very significant effect on the annealing effect.
(5) Surface processing
Process the bricks precision to meet the designed dimensions with precision machining equipment. Mechanical processing can improve the quality of the bricks and prolong their service life.
(6) Inspection
Every brick should be strictly visual inspected according to the standard contract.
(7) Physical and chemical analysis
Carry out physical and chemical analysis on fused cast alumina bricks according to the standard contract.
