What is Ceramic Fiber Cloth Tape
Ceramic fiber cloth tape is a type of light weight insulation refractory material. It can be used as fire-resistant materials, insulation materials and friction materials in a variety of thermal equipment and heat transferring system.
Ceramic fiber cloth tape has excellent high temperature strength and thermal insulation property. It is a non-toxic, harmless, and odorless. It can be used at up to 1000℃ and its short-term use temperature can be up to 1260℃.
It has good resistance to acid and basic corrosion and erosion by molten metals such as aluminum and zinc. Ceramic fiber cloth tape reinforced with E-glass fiber filaments has more excellent electrical insulation and high temperature electrical insulation than glass fiber.
Ceramic fiber cloth tape contains 15% organic fiber. When heated first time, as the temperature rises, the organic fiber will be gradually carbonized to black and there is smoke phenomenon and fire. This is normal and does not affect the use. As the temperature continues to rise, the Ceramic fiber cloth tape will gradually turn white, since the organic fiber is completely carbonized and there are only ceramic fiber products.
It can be used for the insulation of various types of furnaces, high temperature pipes, containers, engines and instruments. It can also be used as fireproof cable coating materials, high temperature fireproof materials, insulation coating cloth, high temperature expansion joints filler, and flue liners. It is a good alternative to asbestos in many applications such as high temperature labor insurance products , fire service, high temperature filtration and sound absorption.
